Windsor’s newest grocery store is now open inside a formerly busy bingo hall.
BOX by No Frills is a new twist on a neighbourhood grocery store for parent company Loblaw’s which also owns Zehrs and The Real Canadian Superstore.
“BOX by No Frills is designed for smaller locations to offer customers a convenient shopping experience with everyday low prices on fresh food, dairy, bakery, grocery and general merchandise items.” reads a statement by Lowlaw Co.
Construction began in early May to convert the former bingo hall located at 3975 Wyandotte Street (at the corner of George) into the new store.
This is the first No Frills location for Windsor. There are currently locations in Essex, Amherstburg and Tilbury.
Along with BOX by No Frills, there are also other retail spaces on the property that are available to lease.
This new development brings the site full circle. Many years ago before it was a bingo hall, the building was a grocery store.
The store at 3975 Wyandotte Street is open 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.
