New Official Name Unveiled For Windsor’s Family Aquatic Centre

The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre Presented by Windsor Family Credit Union is the new official name for the Family Aquatic Centre in Downtown Windsor.

Mayor Eddie Francis made the announcement this evening during a press conference held at the side of the facility’s 71m competitive pool.

Windsor Family Credit Union is the major sponsor of the facility; a position it secured for a contribution of $2.2 million dollars.

“The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre will provide the City of Windsor an
identifiable name to market and attract world-class events,” said Francis. “This
is the opportunity as a community to showcase what this City has to offer, on an international
scale.”

The Centre features a 10 lane, 71m pool, with two movable bulkheads, diving boards and dive tower that can accommodate dive competitions, and a therapy pool which can be used as an activity pool.
