Inquest Announced Into The Death Of Construction Worker

Dr. Rick Mann the Regional Supervising Coroner announced Thursday afternoon that an inquest will be held into the death of Takis Escoto.
Escoto, age 34, died on June 1st 2011, at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Windsor.
An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Escoto’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last four days and to hear from approximately seven witnesses.
The inquest begin on Monday, October 28th at the Provincial Courthouse downtown. Dr. Curtis Fedoruk will preside as inquest coroner and Frank Schwalm will be counsel to the coroner.
