UWindsor students now have a more convenient way to get into the classes they want from anywhere, with the release of the registration portion of the UWindsor mobile app, allowing registration from any smartphone or tablet device.
The registration app is the latest addition to the University’s mobile app services which was launched in May 2012. With the app students are able to review courses, schedules, grades and exams; track and manage UWindsor finance details; access interactive campus maps, directories, cafeteria menus, events, and campus life websites; access Leddy library materials and the latest news from The Lance; and subscribe to the University’s emergency notification system, UWinAlert.
“The new mobile registration app gives students more choices to register wherever and whenever it is convenient for them,” said Acting Registrar Charlene Yates. “We know students have busy schedules and this on-the-go technology is another way of meeting their needs.”
Purita Bristow, Assistant Director of the University’s Enterprise Information Systems Services, says UWindsor is one of the first Canadian universities to offer registration as a mobile application.
“This is something we are very proud of. It was a major undertaking but an important one,” Bristow said. “From the inception of the student portal idea to this end product, we have all come together to produce one of the best products among our peers and we know it will contribute to providing exceptional service to our students.”
