Hello time traveller!!

Today is the first day of summer and hot weather is expected to flip on like a switch over the weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement in advance of hot weather moving into parts of Southern Ontario on Saturday, intensify on Sunday and extending well into next week.

The Weather Office says a warm front will open the door to hot summer weather and will slowly cross Southern Ontario Saturday and Eastern Ontario Sunday morning. The hot weather and high humidity will first build into Southwestern Ontario on Saturday with temperatures topping off in the low thirties with humidex values around 40.

Environment Canada expects to issue a humidex advisory for Southwestern Ontario.

The sweltering heat will “intensify across much of Southern and Eastern Ontario on Sunday with sultry conditions likely continuing through Tuesday”.

A weak cold front may cool us off in the middle of next week.
