On Sunday, more than 950 riders took part in this year’s Windsor TELUS Motorcycle Ride for Dad raising more than $66,000 for the fight against prostate cancer.
These funds raised will support programs such as the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Regional comprehensive Men’s Health Program, helping to bring the most current and advanced technology for prostate treatment to our region, which will mean that patients will get the best care close to home.
“Prostate cancer is a needless killer for men,” said Sue Garret, chair of the Windsor chapter. “The more the community is aware and educated about prostate cancer, the less chance there is to lose the men in our lives to this terrible disease. Men need to get checked, they need to talk about it, and the TELUS Motorcycle Ride For Dad gives them a reason to.”
The top five pledges are:
Chuck Donais $3700
Rick St Pierre $3013
Rick Kristo $1720
John Metcalfe $1400
William Nolan $930
