Windsor’s newest sports league club is gaining popularity and the club is taking a unique approach to getting individuals involved with sports.
Rose City Sport & Social Club, which launched last week, has a way to get you involved with sports leagues even if you don’t have friends or a team to play with. Owner Kyla Woodcock says individuals are welcome to sign up for leagues and that they will be rostered to teams and given opportunities to meet new people and forge long lasting friendships.
Woodcock says Rose City’s leagues are co-ed, are non-competitive in the sense of no trash talking and contact, take place on weekday evenings to attract an after work crowd.
Rose City’s counterpart in London, Forest City Sport & Social Club, started with only 220 players according to Woodcock and grew to almost 6500 registered members, demonstrating its tremendous popularity.
