Ottawa Street’s ‘Tres Be-An’ Cafe Catches Fire

Firefighters extinguished a blaze at Tres Be-An Coffee House on Ottawa Street early this morning.

Crews were called just after 4am Saturday and found heavy smoke coming from the storefront. Firefighters attacked an area of fire inside Tres Be-An and brought it under control around 4:40am. At this time it appears that the fire was contained to Tres Be-An.

There are no reported injuries however more than a dozen people have been displaced from their apartments located above the fire.

Investigators say the casue is undetermined, and that damage is listed at $200,000.  Tenants are not able to return to their units until the utilities are restored.
