This Friday and Saturday is the annual Holiday Walkabout in the heart of historic Walkerville, where businesses offer discounts, treats and a variety of special events! Pick up your postcard, collect stamps from participating stores and enter to win one of three prizes in Walkerville dollars!
Here is a look at the events for this weekend.
Friday
4pm to 9pm – The Rotary Club of Windsor-Walkerville is collecting your gently used coats, winter wear and blankets to Biblioasis and they will deliver them to the St. Vincent de Paul location in Walkerville
5pm to 9pm – Handmade in Windsor. Over 30 high quality craft vendors will be selling their unique gifts at The Walkerville Brewery
6pm to 8pm – The Masquerade Carollers – strolling carollers in vintage attire will be spreading their vocal cheer
6pm to 8pm – The Stilt Guys – everyone’s favourite tall boys dressed in holiday costume
Children’s Colouring Contest at Refine Fitness
Santa at Ten Thousand Villages – 6pm to 8pm
Storefront Decorating Contest – to be judge by local celebrities
Saturday
11am to 5pm – Walkerville Collegiate – students will be selling their signature swag, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. at Refine Fitness Studio
11am to 5pm – The Rotary Club of Windsor-Walkerville – bring your gently used coats, winter wear and blankets to Biblioasis and they will deliver them to the St. Vincent de Paul location in Walkerville
11am to 5pm – Handmade in Windsor – over 30 high quality craft vendors will be selling their unique gifts at The Walkerville Brewery
11am to 2pm – Santa at Refine Fitness – 11am – 2pm
Children’s Colouring Contest at Refine Fitness
12pm to 3pm – The Walkerville Collegiate Carollers and Face Painters – students from the music, arts and theatre departments will be carolling through streets and leaving their artistic mark on the smiling faces of visitors young and old
12pm to 4pm – Magical History Tour – Sponsored by Blackburn Radio Group and hosted by local historian Chris Edwards. Enjoy a ride in a vintage trolley car while learning about the past of some of Walkerville’s historic buildings. The tour will end at Blackburn Radio where you can record a holiday greeting for your family and friends to be aired on the radio free of charge.
1pm to 4pm – Horse & Carriage Rides – cuddle up and turn back time with a ride through the beautiful residential area of historic Walkerville
