This Wednesday you can savour the award-winning selection of wines from our region’s world-class wineries and celebrate the revival of premium craft beer from Walkerville Brewery.

Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, Essex Pelee Island Coast Winegrowers and WindsorEats have teamed up to bring you “Cork & Kegs – The Taste of Heritage.” A dozen local wineries, Walkerville Brewery and The Junior Culinary Guild of Windsor are aiming to tantalize taste buds with local drink and culinary talents.

“Having an event like this is a natural.” said Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island. “Let’s remember that back in May, local wineries took home a record 32 medals at the All Canadian Wine Championships. We’re here to share and show off what we produce, effectively putting a very bright spotlight on Windsor Essex. That same spotlight can be focused on Walkerville Brewery. This brewery has revived a local brand originally released more than a century ago. You could say this event was more than a hundred years in the making.”

Event Wineries include Aleksander Estate Winery, Colio Estate Winery, Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards, CREW, D’Angelo Estate Winery, Mastronardi Estate Winery, Muscedere Vineyards, Oxley Estate Winery, Pelee Island Winery, Sanson Estate Winery, Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery, Viewpointe Estate Winery

The event takes place from 6:30pm to 9pm and tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased online.  Entertainment by “Last Minute”.
