Just after 5pm this evening Windsor Police were called to the area of the Pickwick Plaza in east Windsor.
Police say that a 74-year-old male living in the nearby Meadowbrook area went to the store as he does daily to purchase a cigar. Upon returning home he was shoved from behind and knocked to the ground,by two males who jumped on top of him and tried to steal his wallet however he managed to fight them off preventing them from doing so.
Staff Sergeant Steve Bodri said that while the man was traumatized he fortunately only received some minor injuries mostly bumps and bruises he received from falling to the ground.
The only description the victim could provide was that the two suspects were both males around 16 to 18 years of age, and they were both wearing hoodies, and had medium builds.
Police are asking if anyone may have witnessed this incident or knows who may have committed this appalling crime to call police at 519-255-6700 Ext 4830 or Crime Stoppers.
