Arts Council Looking For Public Programs Coordinator

The Arts Council Windsor and Region is looking for an innovative thinker who can help to develop and facilitate a series of three public workshops in 2012/13 that provide opportunities for local members of the cultural community, to expand their professional development skills, methods and practices.

The Public Programs Coordinator (PPC) is responsible for the development and coordination of ACWR public programs in cooperation with the Executive Director. Reporting directly to the ED, PPC will be responsible for the logistics, marketing, development and production of professional development workshops that animate, complement and enhance the ACWR’s mandate to enrich quality of life for all by strengthening the arts and the community through leadership, advocacy and education.

Specific duties of the PPC will include: the conceptual development, administration (including budget management) and implementation of workshops and presentations, marketing and promotion of programs, reporting and performance measurement. Administering the ACWR public programs will include researching and hiring presenters, venue preparation, maintaining attendance records, event scheduling and overall coordination.

The successful candidate will possess a university degree (an arts related discipline will be considered an asset, but not required) or possess the equivalent in professional experience, as well as demonstrated experience in event coordinator, program development and delivery. Candidates will have strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to work under general direction and in a team environment.

This is a contract position that runs from mid October 2012 – August 2012 with potential for renewal. This position requires flexible working hours that may include evenings and weekends.
