Construction of a brand new facility at the Windsor Regional Hospital Tayfour Campus in the west end for the Family Learning Place is progressing significantly.
The new facility is designed to replace two 40-year-old buildings and will provide intensive residential, day treatment and school-based programs for children aged 6 to 13 with mental health and significant emotional and behavioral needs. The residence will be able to serve up to 50 children a year.
The project includes the current ongoing construction of two new buildings, the reconfigure a parking lot and construction is also underway on an 8900 square foot residence and a 10,200 square foot pool/gymnasium at a cost of $5.3 million.
We Care For Kids and the Provincial Government are the two major financial supporters of the project.
