The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association today announced that the date of its first annual Winterfest will be on Saturday December 15th in downtown Windsor.

Celebrations will begin at 3pm with a parade marching north on Ouellette from Giles to Riverside Drive. The parade is the festival’s anchor and will lead festival-goers into the core where they will witness the transformation of Downtown Windsor into a magical winter wonderland featuring Carolers, ice sculptures, lighting displays, horse-drawn carriages and more.

The Downtown is seeking float, mascot and individual entries for the parade. Entry fees range from $200 for corporates and small businesses; $100 for community groups and non-profits, educational institutions and sporting organizations; and $75 for individuals and mascots. For further details you can contact the DWBIA at 519-252-5723 or [email protected]

“Those who work, live, play and visit downtown Windsor have longed for a Winter Festival,” says Larry Horwitz, Chair of the DWBIA. “We have numerous activities planned, and we’re working hard to present festival-goers with fun-filled family experiences.”
