With the next phase of the Riverside Drive Vista Improvement Project not planned to be constructed until later than 2017, the City of Windsor is looking to fix a patch of Riverside Drive East that needs at least a bit of TLC.
City Council will be asked on Monday to approve an expense of $438,265.41 to repave the winding, crumbling stretch of Riverside between Lauzon and where the previously constructed Vista project ends near Solidarity Tower apartments.
The repaving aims to “improve the driability” of the stretch of road until the entire road is reconstructed under the “Vista” design guidelines many years from now. The centre median will not be removed with this repaving but the entire Lauzon / Riverside Drive intersection will be repaved.
If approved, work will take place this year.
