Just after 12:30 this morning, police were called to Gignac Park, located at Shepherd Street and Lillian Avenue for a red van on fire.

Windsor Fire extinguished the fire, but not before the vehicle was completely destroyed. Police say that the registered owner of the vehicle called police to report that her minivan had been stolen between 10:40pm on July 3rd and 12:40am on July 4th from the area of the 300 block of University Avenue West.

Several witnesses have told police they saw a dark-colored sedan and a Veteran’s cab leaving the area at the time of the incident. The police investigation continues.
