Suspect Sought After Sexual Assault on Windsor’s Riverfront Trail

Windsor Police are looking for a suspect after a 21-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted early yesterday morning in the area of Riverside Drive West and McKay.
The victim told police that she had been at a downtown bar with a number of friends when she became separated from them. She decided to walk home westbound through the riverfront park on the trail by herself. She said that when she got to the foot of McKay in the park, she encountered two men and a woman on the trail. The woman and one man kept walking leaving her with one man who knocked her to the ground, choked her, and sexually assaulted her. The suspect also stole the victim’s cell phone.
The victim was transported to Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus where she was treated and released.
The suspect is described as a male with an olive complexion, 20 -25 years, 5’8″ – 5’10”, slender build with short dark hair. He spoke with a slight Spanish accent.
