On Friday night in the basement of The Dominion House Tavern (3140 Sandwich St.) there was a gathering of metal bands and fans.

Visiting from Walkerton was Odium, a band that has done a lot of touring with Windsor artists and plays in town a few times a year. This time they were around to celebrate the release of their newest album Burning the Bridges to Nowhere, put out through Year of the Sun Records.

Their loud, high-energy show was well complimented by the locals they played with; epic progressive heavy metal band Perpetuate, the beer-swilling head-crushing rockers known as Goliath, hard-core infused metal heads Desertion, and Slaughterhouse on the Prairie, a group that is definitely worth keeping your eye on.
