"The Claim Post" as seen on the website of sculptor Scott McKay

If approvals go through, the Odette Sculpture Park is getting a new piece of art. The current 31-piece garden will see a new sculpture installed later this year after a donation by citizens Stephen and Kelly Savage of a piece entitled “The Claim Post” by artist Scott McKay. McKay describes the sculpture as one that “draw[s] attention to an area of significance and [it] will mark potential and proven resources in a vibrant city”.

The sculpture is 12 feet tall with steel “ribbons”.

“The flowing ribbons of steel represent the creative energy while the post draws on the strength of community,” described McKay in an artist statement.

The Claim Post will be installed at the Odette Sculpture Park pending City of Windsor approval.
