Value of Building Permits Issued in Windsor Up for the Month of March

In March the City of Windsor issued 167 building permits for new home construction valued at $4,351,164 compared to March 2011 which saw 120 issued for a value of $4,240,050.
Seven permits were issued for industrial construction valued at $985,000. In March of last year, six were issued for a total value of $942,000.
On the commercial side, 25 permits were issued for a value of $48,100 compared to 2011 which saw less permits issued at eight, but those were valued at $2,010,000.
New construction for the month included an addition to Monarch Office supply, and the South West Detention Centre.
During the month of March, 205 building permits were issued altogether for a value of $43,555,684 compared with March 2011 with 165 permits for a value of $10,066,050.
In general, year to date construction is up over this period from 2011. Between January and March 2011 $20,769,050 in permits were issued while this year, $58,651,293.
