Windsorites celebrated St. Patrick’s Day all over the city on Saturday. Taps were flowing with green beer, whisky and cocktails and partygoers from young to old enjoyed what Windsor had to offer.

Popular bars and venues in Downtown, Walkerville and Sandwich Towne played host to thousands of partygoers while student residents in the University of Windsor area attracted the constant attention of Police and Windsor/Essex EMS.

EMS reported dozens of calls for individuals with severe intoxication including for a young woman who had consumed 26 drinks in a short period of time. Windsor Fire responded multiple times to the Downtown strip for medical emergencies. One woman was struck by a car in the 5500 block of Riverside Drive East after she had ran out into traffic. Responding emergency units reported that the woman was intoxicated.

St. Patrick’s Day hasn’t fallen on a Saturday since 2007.
