Police Searching for Two Suspects After St. Luke Purse Snatching

Windsor Police Service are searching for two suspects after a woman was knocked to the ground her purse was stolen yesterday evening in the city’s east side on the corner of Whelpton Street and St. Luke Road.

The 30-year-old female victim told police she had been walking from her boyfriend’s house in the 900 block of Albert Road and was walking through a parking lot located at Whelpton Street at St. Luke Road when she was knocked to the ground from behind by a male suspect who then grabbed the woman’s purse from her shoulder.

The woman struggled in an effort to retain possession of her purse but the suspect was able to wrestle it away from the victim.

The suspect then met up with a second suspect who was standing nearby and both suspects fled northbound on foot on St. Luke with the woman’s purse. The woman was not physically injured as a result of the robbery but was visibly shaken by the ordeal.

The woman’s black leather purse with a silver clasp contained a quantity of cash and identification.

Suspect #1 is described as a light-skinned black male – 30 years, 6’3″, with a slender build and a “scruffy” goatee. He was wearing a black and red windbreaker and a red ball cap.

Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 17-20 years wearing all dark clothing.
