Fire Trucks, Tree Trimming, EC Row at Windsor City Council Tonight

This evening at Windsor City Council, Councillors will be asked to approve several project tenders.

Council will be asked to approve the expense of $1,068,000 for the purchase of two new fire pumper/rescue trucks. These two new trucks will replace two older trucks in the fleet that were purchased in 1995. The fire department replaces all vehicles in their fleet on a 15 year rotation.

Council will be asked to approve a tender for tree trimming. Forest Glade Tree Experts came in with the lowest bid at $112,485.00 for a one year tender of trimming of 1,500 trees.

Council will receive three tenders to approve grass cutting in the city. Siefker Inc. will be awarded a three year contract worth $600,000 for grass cutting on the E.C Row Expressway. Bellaire Landscape Inc. will be awarded a three year contract to cut vacant lots in the city once per year. The contract is worth $42,570.00. Bellaire will also be awarded a contract for three years worth $52,790.40 for the cutting of roadside ditches one time per year.
