The land may be covered in snow now, but in just a few short months, a section of this park will be transformed into a community garden.
The Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative will be establishing a 40′ x 50′ community garden plot. The garden will be divided into sections and the food produced in this garden will be shared amongst the participants and area neighbors.
A $500.00 deposit will be required by the city and will be returned when the park is returned to its original shape in the fall.
Garden preparation will begin on April 15th and the garden is expected to be fully harvested by September 15th.
This is just one of a few new community gardens expected to pop up this spring after City Council approved a new community garden strategy.
