Did you know that according to Statistics Canada 60% of Ontario’s smokers want to quit within the next six months? That about 19% of Essex County residence aged 12 and over smoke? That’s nearly one in five people.
The Windsor-Essex health Unit will be host a Lights-Out forum this February. The purpose is to bring together local decision makers and stakeholders to discuss a “business case” of the creation of a Comprehensive Smoking Cessation Strategy for Windsor and Essex County Workplaces. This strategy will help business owners and employers find out what they can do to promote the cessation of smoking for their employees and family members.
Key decision-makers and community stakeholders who can influence the development and implementation of smoking cessation strategies and policies within their organizations and the community at large are all welcome to attend.
