Santa’s helpers have been busy the past couple of days making sure that every kid who is in Windsor Regional Hospital’s Paediatric Services unit over the Holidays will have a toy or two.

The Ronald Renaud Family of Amherstburg chose to share good-will with the community this morning and donated several toys and other items including stuffed animals, a portable DVD player, Barbies, puzzles and dinky toys.

Ron Renaud owns Waterbee Pools & Hot Tubs in Amherstburg. Through a business relationship with Canadian Tire Corporation, they were able to provide many toys to the kids.

Last Thursday, the annual Toys For Tots donation from the Ontario Provincial Police Essex Auxiliary Unit saw dozens of toys and stuffed animals donated.

“Every year, we encourage the region to support our effort through the annual Toys For Tots fundraiser and we are happy that the community came through once again,” states Jason Ferris, OPP spokesperson.

On Friday a very special donation of 100 Build-A-Bears was made by Foresters of Windsor, a life insurance provider.

“Foresters champion family well-being through services along with a history of supporting hospitals to ensure all children have access to the quality, specialized health care they deserve,” stated Nancy Friesen, Member Coordinator. “Making it possible for 100 children to receive a Build-A-Bear for the holidays is close to our hearts.”

The true meaning of the Christmas season has been shown to these kids and there families!
