If you’ve walked down the street recently in many parts of Windsor, you may have noticed an unusual amount of orange spraypaint on City sidewalks.
The City of Windsor has marked hundreds of bumps and cracks over a few centimeters tall in sidewalks with high-visibility orange paint, most likely in an effort to help citizens avoid trips and falls.
Areas we noticed with the paint include much of Pillette Road, areas of Riverside Drive in the East End, sections of sidewalk around the University and portions of South Windsor.
The City of Windsor did not return our request for information on the exact reason why sidewalks have been marked, but from our observation, the only sidewalks that have been painted are ones that are old, deficient and cracking.
