Thanks to a $59,000 grant from The Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Art Gallery of Windsor has been able to transform its under-utilized third-floor terrace, into a dynamic green space that complements the gallery’s riverfront views.
The terrace covers 576 square feet, with plants covering nearly 50% of this area; features cost-effective and eco-friendly Envirotile made from recycled rubber tires that will not deteriorate; and has two custom-made benches allowing visitors to enjoy both riverfront and city views. The gallery’s benches were constructed of composite wood and stainless steel. The benches are the perfect place to sit, reflect and enjoy the view.
The terrace is open to all during regular gallery hours and is located at the southwest stairwell.
