The Well-Come Centre is raffling this quilt by local artist Irene Friend
Windsor’s Well-Come Centre is the area’s only emergency shelter for women experiencing homelessness, and in an effort to support their programs, the Centre is raffling off a beautiful quilt made by local artist Irene Friend.
Director of the Well-Come Centre, Lady Laforet tells us, “[The Well-Come Centre] assists nearly 400 local women a year in securing housing and other resources within our community” and operates “a drop-in program open to any low-income woman in the community who self-identifies as needing assistance in locating resources or support in the community.
The Well-Come Centre’s emergency shelter program and emergency food bank provides women and children in the West end with access to safe places to stay, food, laundry, and assistance in reaching goals like housing, income support, healthcare, and education.
To support the great community programs that the Well-Come Centre offers, they’ll be holding a raffle to win the quilt (pictured) until December 1st, the draw will take place and winner will be notified on December 2nd.
Tickets are $5 each, or three for $10. For more information and to purchase your tickets, contact Lady Laforet at 519-971-7595 or [email protected]
