Got an Idea, Ready to Be an Entrepreneur? Startup Drinks wants you

Every month the WEtech Alliance hosts an event called Startup Drinks where innovators, small businesses looking to grow and investors come together for a night to “Celebrate entrepreneurship and share ideas,” says WEtech’s Yvonne Pillon.

“One of the necessities of propelling innovation is initiating conversation and sparking creativity” says Pillon, “Each month Startup Drinks is successful in bringing more than 50 people together from various sectors including new entrepreneurs, seasoned entrepreneurs, investors, government, business professionals, students, as well as members of the community.”

If you have a unique idea, are starting a business or looking for ways to take a small idea or product to the business world, Startup Drinks may be worth attending.  Startup drinks lets participants mix and mingle with different professionals, get advice and network.

“This month’s Startup Drinks is open to all those infused with the entrepreneurial spirit, whether your start-up is in the planning stages, ready to be financed, or simply a napkin sketched idea. We hope that this event will give local startups the opportunity to tell us more about them as well as shed light on the vibrant entrepreneurial community we have in our own backyard.” says Pillon.

The WEtech Alliance puts on Startup Drinks, as well they offer a whole package of help to new and growing businesses in the advanced materials, manufacturing and engineering, information technology, communications and entertainment, green Technologies, life sciences & health care and social innovation sectors.

Pillon says, “To date WEtech has provided our clients with more than $850,000 in value through various support and funding programs. And we are only getting started!”

WEtech has a number of events coming up in addition to tomorrow night’s startup drinks which starts at 6pm at Mick’s Irish Pub downtown.
