Firefighters Battling Stubborn Downtown Blaze

Windsor Firefighters are on the scene at 411 Elliott Street West, across Church Street from Dougall Public School, where a fire at an abandoned house continues to burn.  Crews were called to the scene around 9:20pm where flames were shooting out of second floor windows.

Within an hour, the fire was out and firefighters began to pack up.  Around 11pm, fire was discovered again in the ceiling of the second floor.  Presently, firefighters are battling flames in the attic.

One firefighter was taken to hospital and required stitches, no other injuries are reported.
