UPDATE: As of 9:43pm the tunnel is back open. Detroit Police detonated the suspicious package. A bomb threat had been phoned in to Detroit City Hall, prompting downtown streets to close along with the Tunnel.
Detroit Police’s bomb squad is on scene in Downtown Detroit after a suspicious package was found in the parking lot of Detroit City Councillors outside the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center.
The police situation in Downtown Detroit has closed the entire Detroit-Windsor tunnel from both ends.

On the Detroit side, at least five police cruisers are visible with lights on at the Tunnel exit.
