Original “UFO” video
It’s not everyday you see a UFO. And it’s reportedly uncommon to see fifty UFOs in one area. But over the weekend (in the midst of a major thunderstorm), a youtube user named gomezpayne shot a video of what he thought were unidentified flying objects soaring over the Detroit river.
Thanks to a news tip from a reader, we were pointed to a video of a wedding that took place on the roof of Portofino Condominiums, Saturday night.

At 8m 49s into the video of the Keller Wedding, a photograph shows attendees releasing Kongming lanterns, or “sky lanterns”, from the roof of the building.
Constructed from rice paper, sky lanterns contain a small candle that when lit, gives the lanterns lift and allows them to float to a modest height. Once the flame from the candle runs out, the lanterns drift back to earth.
According to details from the two videos, the location of the suspected UFO sighting roughly lines up with the date, time and location of the release of sky lanterns from the Keller Wedding.
What do you believe was out there?
