Crews were busy Wednesday evening putting finishing touches on over forty rides and games along Windsor’s river front in preparation for the Emancipation Celebration that opens tomorrow. The four-day celebration is to commemorate The Emancipation Act of 1833, that made Canada the final stop on the Underground Railroad to freedom.
The midway is just one of several events planned that include a gospel fest, a wreath laying and Emancipation Idol. Gates open daily at 12:00 pm and entry is free.
