Bodies Of Three Missing Boaters Found In Lake Erie

The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a boating collision that occurred approximately 500 meters off the shore of the Leamington Marina just before 11:00 p.m. on June 5, 2011.
Police located two females who informed them that they were involved in a boating crash and that three other persons on the vessel were unaccounted for.
The OPP Marine Unit, assisted by the Leamington Fire Department and Canadian Coast Guard began an immediate search of the area however were unable to locate the victims last night.
OPP began searching the waters today and have located the bodies of two males and one female. All three are deceased.
The OPP will be withholding the names of the decease persons pending next-of-kin notification.
Post mortem examinations of the victims will be conducted. Police wish to thank the media and public who assisted with information.
The Essex County OPP Criminal Investigation Unit and Technical Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate the incident
