Hello time traveller!!

Sunday morning at 11 am at the Cenotaph located at City Hall Square in Downtown Windsor a few hundred people gathered to remember all those who served our country who passed away in the last year (May 2010 – May 2011).

This ceremony’s is held every year on the first Sunday in June.  In the past year 88 men who served our country in various wars have passed away.

Each name was read and a bell was rung in their honour.

Wreaths were then laid by Joe Comartin, Brian Masse, Sandra Pupatello and Ed Sleiman who represented Mayor Eddie Francis.

Rev. Stan Frasier remarked that this was the 65 year for this ceremony, and its important to keep the tradition alive, as we still have Canadian soldiers fighting in wars.

Freedom is not free.  We paid for it.  We will remember them.
