May 15 to May 21 has been designated as Police Week across Canada and the United States, and there are several events planned in Windsor.
On Monday, the Windsor Police Service will hold the 22nd Annual Memorial Appreciation Service at 12:00 pm at All Saints Anglican Church located at 330 City Hall Square in Windsor. The purpose of this service is to remember, with gratitude, those who served with the Windsor Police Service and have passed away in the previous year. We take this opportunity to publicly declare our ongoing gratitude to those who serve faithfully in law enforcement in our city and region.
From May 19 to May 21 Devonshire Mall will celebrate police week with many booths set up, to help the public learn more about crime prevention, public safety and security and animal cruelty prevention. Participants include theUniversity of Windsor Campus Police, R.C.M.P., Correction Service Windsor Jail, Crime Stoppers, Paws for a Cause, MADD, M.T.O., Canada Border Services Agency, Essex County Diversion Program, Probation and Parole, Windsor Police Services 911 Centre, Marine Patrol Unit, Traffic Enforcement, Community Services Branch, and the Windsor Police Association.
