An update to a missing person from Leamington we reported on Friday afternoon.
The missing person investigation pertaining to Maria Correia resulted in Essex County OPP Marine Unit and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit attending the Wheatley harbour, Lake Erie. An underwater search was conducted resulting in the recovery of a green 2008 Ford Taurus automobile bearing Ontario licence number BDCP707. Additionally a female body was located within the vehicle. The victim has been positively identified as the missing person 50-year-old Maria Correia from Leamington Ontario.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for today at Windsor Metropolitan hospital. At this point in the investigation OPP say there is no evidence of any foul play.
