Bad news for those looking to get away to Holiday Beach Conservation Area this first long weekend of the Summer. It has been closed to the public until further notice, due to flooding and required road repair construction, as a result of high water levels.
“Significant rainfall has flooded many of the camping sites and other areas in the Conservation Area, making them unfit and unsafe to visitors,” Kevin Money, Director of Conservation Areas in a media statement.
Camping reservations for this weekend have also been cancelled and guests will be reimbursed. As well, the park and beach is also closed for all day-use activities. Seasonal campers however, are able to enter the park. A new opening date will be announced shortly.
ERCA has 19 additional Conservation Areas open to the public year-round offering hiking, biking, bird watching and picnicking activities.
