The City Grill Opens In Downtown Windsor

Monday evening marked the long anticipated opening of The City Grill in Downtown Windsor.  Located in the former Pepper’s Bar and Grill, this restaurant is part of a trend in the core shifting  from kiddie type bars to the more up scale adult dining establishments.

Completely renovated both inside and out, it shows no signs of its former bar days.  The exterior is clad in black and white ceramic, and the familiar gold over hang is now black.  On the inside gone are the cages that dancers once danced in.  Replaced with black and white photos highlighting historically significant landmarks in Windsor used for dividers, the original brass Birks’ doorknob restored, and even the original walk-in safe’s conversion into a wine cellar.
