Construction on Erie Street East, between Howard Avenue and Pierre Street, is scheduled to begin on Monday April 25, 2011 with completion planned for the end of September.
The City advises that portions of Erie Street East will be periodically closed to traffic during the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00PM daily. There will be no construction activity after 6:00 PM on weekdays. As well, on weekends the contractor be working until 12 noon only. Erie Street will be open to one lane of traffic in each direction when there is no construction activity.
The City is asking that motorist use alternate routes during this closure, but stress that all businesses will remain accessible from Erie Street East during this period of time.
The work undertaken is phase 1A of the Erie Street La Bella Strada plan approved by City Council earlier this year.
