Just like Dougall and Howard have gotten fresh looks in the past few years, the City of Windsor Parks Department is now setting their sights on Wyandotte between Walker Road and Lauzon Road. Currently this long stretch of road has 33 medians that vary in condition. Some are concrete while others have grass and trees.
The plan being presented to council at Wednesday’s budget session is to enhance theses medians with coloured concrete, low maintenance plantings, trees and artificial turf.
The gateways to the Pillette Village and Old Riverside BIA’s would be enhanced as well.
The city also plans to upgrade the look of the landscape around the Drouillard Road underpass. New railings, lighting and the insulation of landscape features will bring this area up to the standards that are displayed at EC Row at Dougall and Howard.
If Council gives the okay to this $300,000 expense, it will be undertaken this summer.
