From sustainable community development to eradication of poverty: Poverty is everyone’s business

Today, at Caboto Club, over 200 people from across Windsor-Essex attended “Making Poverty Everyone’s Business”, Pathway to Potential’s community forum featuring Mark Chamberlain.

Mark’s energy and drive engaged everyone in the audience. He is the President and one of the founding partners of Trivaris Ltd., a commercialization company focused on transforming ideas from concept to sustainable companies and social enterprises. Investing in and growing early-stage companies, Mark strives to create businesses, jobs and a culture of innovation under a brand that is ‘not just for profit’

The event, co-hosted by Fabio Constante (P2P Roundtable Co-Chair) and Adam Vasey (Coordinator of P2P), brought to the participants a vast amount of information on local, provincial as well as national statistics on poverty and allowed us to be part of a great sharing experience from the perspective of two local community leaders: Tom Lucier, owner of Phog Lounge and Taking On Media, and Patrick Persichilli, Executive Vice President of the Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation.

For more information on Pathway to Potential (P2P) – a community-based collaborative strategy for reducing poverty and ensuring social and economic well-being for the residents of Windsor and Essex County – as well as on statistics on local, provincial and national poverty, please visit the P2P site here.
