During the month of December, Terra Cotta Pizza will donate half the proceeds from 5 different pizzas, salad and Steam Whistle beer to the London Military family Resource Centre. Funds raised will cover the cost of the children’s Christmas party for the kids of local soldiers who are fighting in Afghanistan.
“Even if you don’t agree with the war you still have to have an appreciation for the men and women over there fighting,” said Greg Gynp, owner of Terra Cotta. “We thought it would be a great idea to help the kids who will not see their parents at Christmas.”
Gynp says there are approximately 35 children between here and Chatham whose parents won’t be home for Christmas because they are off fighting.
“Maybe we can give a child a couple of hours where they are not worried about mom or dad,” said Gnyp. “They can see Santa Claus, get a toy and eat some pizza.”
The event takes place every Thursday Dec 9, 16, 23 and 30.
Terra Cotta turns 20 years old in January. Watch for an anniversary update.
