It was cold, cold, cold and the wind made it so much colder. I guess, it was just the ‘perfect day’ for a dip.
Almost 100 people gather today at the Sand Point Beach for the Downtown Mission’s 19th Annual Polar Bear Dip. The annual dive is the Mission’s biggest yearly fundraiser, and it had raised at least $13,000 by one o’clock and hoping to reach their estimated target of $20,000.
The Downtown Mission is a Registered Canadian Charitable Non Profit Organization and exists to provide a place of sanctuary. They provide food for the body, nurture for the spirit and opportunities for human growth and development. The Mission provides over 120,000 meals each year through its various meal assistance programs.
