In its latest episode, hit ABC tv police drama (fiction) Detroit 1-8-7 features scenes from Downtown Windsor, Windsor Police HQ and some very unusual cultural follies.
Plot: Three Detroit detectives investage the murder of a missing teenager and are taken across the border to Windsor (they actually say Windsor by name) over the Ambassador Bridge and are set to determine if the missing teenager’s friends have been smuggling drugs across the border.
The detectives arrive at Windsor Police HQ and meet with Windsor Police investigators who speak almost entirely en-francais, with very undecipherable english skills. Just a bit off from how the average police officer in Ontario speaks!
Detroit 1-8-7 premiered back in September and drew critical responses from Detroiters, including a former Detroit Police spokesperson, that were mostly favourable.
The full episode should be up on ABC.com today, but a video of the episode is available at this site (Windsor appears at the 19 minute mark).
