Sunday, August 1st – The Windsor Junior Selects lost to Pickering 3-2, but beat Kitchener 10-8 at the Ontario Junior Baseball Championship on Sunday at Mic Mac Park.

On Saturday, the Windsor Selects beat both Guelph and Brantford back to back.

The Selects will be playing in the finals on Monday at 1pm. They will be without the company of one of their coaches, Zinik, as he was ejected from the championship for belligerently arguing with the base umpire.

According to base umpire, Kevin Johnson, Zinik was upset about his team being penalized for running onto the field after one of their teammates scored a run.

The official rules of baseball state that offensive players should not enter the playing field unless they are at bat or on deck. Zinik felt that it was unfair that the opposing team was not penalized for allegedly committing the exact same offense.
