Downtown Windsor is close to completing its new look with the start of streetscaping along Pelissier St.
On Wednesday afternoon, Ouellette Avenue’s “Bangladesh Peace Clock” had permanent lettering attached to its rocky base. Lettering was temporarily added, then removed, for the Clock’s official dedication on January 12th.
The big digs began Monday. Pelissier Street is closed to the public as work crews begin by excavating old water lines and utilities. When done, Pelissier street is to include green elements, trees and planters, a newly paved roadway and sidewalks, possible ‘vertical gardens’ and necessary infrastructure to support fountains at Maiden Lane.
The traffic headaches will end this November when the streetscaping concludes.
