Working smoke alarms can make a life-saving difference in a fire, and that’s the message behind this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Test Yours Every Month!”
Along with firefighters and safety advocates nationwide, Windsor Fire & Rescue Services is joining forces with the nonprofit National Fire Protection Association.
They will be hosting activities during Fire Prevention Week to promote “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives!” Through these educational, family-oriented activities, residents can learn more about the importance of working smoke alarms and testing them monthly.
Activities will include fire truck appearances and educational material to be distributed at a selection of local grocery stores on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, fire truck appearances and public safety talks at recreation facilities throughout the week.
There will be truck tours and gear demonstration at Tecumseh Mall on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and educational booths, truck rides and activities for kids and the whole family at Devonshire Mall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
