Some of the sports, academic and cultural history of J.L. Forster Secondary School is being made available to the public at a special event being held this Saturday.

The 92 year old school will close at the end of June and the items up for auction or sale include pictures, trophies, uniforms and banners, some dating back to the 1930s.

The event is being staged by a group of alumni and all the money raised will be donated to the new Westview Freedom Academy for its athletic programs.

The event will be held in the Forster gym from 6pm to 10pm. There will be entertainment and refreshments available throughout the evening.
